Assassin Bug
Nowhere near as intimidating as the name, this is just a young one. The dog often brings them in after brushing against shrubs – as shown by older posts. Interesting little bugs.. slow moving, which makes them way less creepy. But probably best to not mess with them, given the red eyes and name.

That pollen-sheen
Tree pollen in high gear gave the Exploder a little green highlight under the street lamp.

Lilacs
I don’t have any such blooms here, but at the end of the street there is a house with really impressive old flowering shrubs. Including the biggest rhododendron you could imagine. Nice lilacs there – and Google Photos decided to make them even more colorful. The actual photo isn’t quite as nice:

Drooping Tulips
A rainy day suddenly changed the trajectory of some of these tulips. And it got worse though the day – two of them even snapped in half (lower right). Sheesh.

Good Season
The tulips thrived this Spring. Maybe weather, maybe me slightly losing my marbles and spraying that rotten egg spray daily to keep the rodents away. Or both!

Day 19 – Choice – Hawk problems
This hawk was hanging out in the front yard – and accidentally stepped on a leaf. Turns out those big talons have a slight drawback when the leaves are falling!
