Shwarma Chicken

A la Trader Joes. This is a real winner from Joe. You can grill it, bake it, broil it, and even throw it in a pan. Always comes out incredibly delicious. Even the kids love it.

I tend to cook it one way.. then dice it up and broil those pieces a bit, then serve with rice, some sauteed greens (cucumbers for minions), and pita bread. Oh, and “white sauce”. Which I borrow from Serious Eats, and hack up every time. Mainly, its plain yogurt, mayo, lemon juice and sugar. I use honey sometimes instead of sugar – its a REQUIREMENT with the meal.

My personal obsession begins with a food truck – The Chicken and Rice Guys – having never had this food from a cart in NYC. I will one day! They used to come to my office area often. So delicious. The Tjoes chicken gets you halfway there with no effort.
