For a moment after the Explorer vs deer incident I thought, “I’ll get some darker style headlights for the Explorer, to make it look a little cooler.” I also assumed the body shop would take my aftermarket parts – and now am quite sure they would have laughed at me.
Turns out these would not be quite legal in Massachusetts because of the tint- which in reality, is dimming your headlight output. I was thinking the reflector was a darker paint, but the “clear lens” where the light would travel through, was where the tint was to make it all look darker. Chose to return them, vs fail my next inspection.
Failure aside, they look sharp. Even in their ancient technology style, the reflections and detail in these things looks neat. Or I’m a car nerd.
